I’m approaching 3 months since I began blogging with passion for personal development. Rightfully, I shall dwell on the time and reflect upon the life lessons learned in this short journey.
When I began blogging, I had three goals in mind. One, to share my story that if you believe in your dreams, you possess all the tools required to achieve them. You do not need more money, more power and, for sure, more excuses to achieve success. Second, I wanted to network with people believing in continuous personal growth by sharing knowledge. Third, of course to monetize my blog. I wanted to create income from the blog to support my new found passion. Looking back, I certainly have made significant progress in my first two goals, and I have miserably failed on the third goal.
Blogging has enlightened me with a new mantra - “Better Life with Opportunities and Gratitude.”
Lesson # 1: Better Life.
What other possible way can I keep growing my life with unbound positivity, abundance of selflessness, larger than life experience of gratitude that I’ve experienced by blogging with so many souls that are blogging to share their ideas and make this world a better place to live? I can’t think of any other than blogging. This is the only passion that has resonated people to go out of their way to balance the world full of ego and self desires. I’m deeply thankful to all of those making their contribution with their pen.
Lesson # 2 Opportunities.
I’ve been blessed to have an opportunity to know bloggers who have shown me, with their time, that personal growth is all about helping others succeed. Barbara at the blogging without a blog, gave me limelight that ascended my readership and pageviews. Alik at the Practice this, always took time to comment with passion of his own to improve my ideas. Chris at the Wat da Wat, reminded me that my family should always be at the top of my priorities. His witty acumen with pen refreshes my mind with breeze of energy. Vered at the momgrind, oh her impeccable accuracy of visiting not only my blog but so many other blogs on a daily basis and adding her wisdom with comments is outstanding. I am fan of her blog theme. Tad at Growing into you, reminds me of when I landed at a young age in this great nation with ambitions and endless energy to achieve success in life. I’ve had my share of failures. Nonetheless, I feel that every failure is worth more than every success that came out of it. Needless to say, Tad is a friend to have for the life. JEMi at In My Heels, inspires me with her passion that in life, tragedy can hit us like a snowball but, it is how we react to it is all matters. She is an inspiration to all women feeling victim of their own thoughts.
Lesson # 3 Gratitude.
As I grow my blog every day, I tend not to reflect upon the subscriber count or the page views. Believe me, these factors are important for the life of the blog but I’d rather cherish the gratitude that I cultivate daily by knowing and learning from Lori at Between Us Girls, who taught me the virtue of selflessness by helping me find my holding in this vast ocean of bloggers. For that, I will be in debt forever. Jennifer at Empowered reader, with her numerous emails to me, kept my faith alive in sharing passion for the success and adding spiritual tone to my thoughts about success. What value can I attach to knowing Davidya at In 2 Deep, who has wisdom about life that I marvel every time I visit his blog. Tina at Think Simple Now, taught me that willingness to invest in the success of others multiplies my own success.
Last but not least, I owe gratitude to Jay White at Dumblittleman to publish my first guest post at his blog. Another one is coming soon. Peter Clemens at the Change blog, whom I admire for his candidness with his writings and also allowing me to write a guest post for his blog scheduled to go live soon as well.
Needles to say, I have almost tripled my subscriber count in just last one month only because I get support from all of you including all of the readers who have taken time to read what I write. I owe gratitude to all of you who have silently supported my passion with pen.
My Take for the aspiring bloggers.
What I have learned in this brief journey is simple yet profound truth. Success with blogging or any other goals in life shall never be driven by purpose of making profit only. If I write from my heart, give all that I have to the task at hand, success is inevitable. No matter what place, what gender, what race, what circumstances - You and I have power of pure thoughts to achieve unbound success.

Me too! Me too! I am a fan too!
For me, it’s mostly about interacting with others. Maybe that’s why I invest at least as much time in making comments on other blogs as I do in writing in my own blog. (And yes, it’s also good self promotion).
Making money blogging… that’s tricky. I don’t really aspire to that, although I do have ads on my site. But the income from that is ridiculous… more like pocket money than real income.
Love your blog and thanks for the link! Also thanks for including me even though I don’t really fit in the productivity and self-improvement niche.

I hope I can find as many readers as you once I’ve been blogging three months, and have such a beautiful blog too.
Thank you for your inspiration. Your comments on my posts have helped me keep going when I’ve felt like giving up.

Thank you for your kind words. I’m humble to have your generous comments but in reality, you’ve as much contribution towards my inner growth and desire to write effectively.
@Vered -
I absolutely enjoy your blog theme, its design and your to the point story revolving around life and family. I’m honored to be on your blogroll. That’s for sure.
@David -
You already have a beautiful blog. Your writings are aspiring and in some way if I kept your spirit for the blogging alive, I’d consider that as a gain larger than profits in dollars and cents. I’d love to have you visit frequently as you do and contribute towards the growth of my blog.
Thanks

Shilpan’s last blog post..3 Life Lessons from 3 Months of Blogging
Hey Shilpan,
Thanks for the acknowledgement. I too have only been blogging for 3 months. It will be interesting to see where we will be a year from now.
So far there are two great things that have happened since I began this journey. First, I developed some new friends. Second, my blog became an indirect communication to my children. I never really expected them to follow my blog, but they have done so regiously.

Hi Shilpan
Thank you for your kind feedback. As you note, gratitude is what makes it all worthwhile. I have been blogging since last fall but do not remotely have the readership you have. Partly I think this is because I have been cautious. Not sure of the audience, even if there was one. Though I had a desire to share, this caution lead to less networking which really is the key to anything Internet.
Indeed, if you accept the idea that we are all in this together, then the network is primary in any area of life. That in itself is a big lesson.
As for monetization, what I’ve read indicates blogs are better as a line of communication, a way to network. Make the connection. Other techniques are better if you want to make a bit of income from writing. While a few blogs bring in income, they were in early on and have years of effort behind that.
You have been bold and it shows in your results. You stand as a great example for all of us. Thank you.

What can I say? You’ve shown me true meaning of gratitude with your articles and of course with your compassion as a friend. I feel that like Tad, I’ve found another great friend in you.
Thanks

Keep up the good work and know that you are making a difference in this world.
